Yet more rambling

It seems to me that when you are older and you have dogs you become part of an elitist group who talk about their dogs in much the same way as parents talk about their children - this morning I met up with one of the tufty club out on the marsh with her dog and a neighbours that she is looking after for a couple of days - all of the dogs get on and we proceeded to discuss all of their eating habits as she is feeding this other dog who has liver or stewing steak nearly every day - lucky dog it eats better than a lot of humans that I know - you would have thought that we were swopping recipes if you had been listening in to the conversation - although I must say I do stick to dog food and draw the line at cooking gourmet food for our three !! She has a very strange neighbour - one of the afore-mentioned grumps who has a beautiful golden retriever - this dog is not allowed to mix with any others - we don't know why and we all feel very sorry for the poor dog who has a lovely nature and would so like to come and play with all of the others but his very strange owner keeps him firmly to heel and glares and shouts if other dogs go anywhere near - it just goes to show that just like people we can pick our friends but not our families !!!

Well yesterday the OH found out that the German part of the company that he works for are now working a four day week and have had to take a 10% cut in pay - they can decide which four days they want to work but on the fifth day they have to switch off their mobiles and keep their computers switched off - don't know how the OH would cope if they brought the same measures in here in the UK as his phone is on 24/7 and he always checks his work emails at all times of the day and night - even on holiday he checks his phone once a day 'just in case'

So he is now walking round with a very worried expression on his face - and has informed me that I mustn't buy anything that we don't absolutely need - like expensive dog food I presume !!

OH does the dog walking at the weekends and on Bank Holidays with me doing all the rest of the time unless there is an emergency or he has to go and work - it does him the world of good and blows away a lot of the cobwebs that accumulate during the week - he meets up with different members of the tufty club - he even takes the Grandchildren if it isn't too cold or wet - so he then ends up with the tripod a three legged white boxer called Millie who is adorable and lives with our daughter and family - she was thrown out of an upstairs window by her previous owners and had to have one of her back legs amputated !! Not a lot more to say really without swearing !!

The Mad Economy

I cannot understand what is going on out there with the 'economy' how come all of the banks money has disappeared into a great big black hole - why has this happened ??

In the old days well in 2006/2007 we all went to work hopefully did a good job and got paid by our employer as we had helped to put money into the business - in 2008 our prospects got more and more gloomy and I am sure that we really did talk ourselves into what is now happening out there

I never was a fan of going into the Euro but with hindsight we should have gone for it when we had the chance - a lot of companies and individuals have now and will in the future lose a lot of money either because they are trading in Euro's or they are living in a Euro country and their sterling is virtually worthless compared to even 6 months ago !!! I think a lot of us remembered going decimal and how confused we all got and that was probably the biggest worry about changing currencies.

I feel sorry for the people with savings that depended on the income from their investments they are getting absolutely nothing now - I know that lowering interest rates has made a lot of mortgages go down but it all seems pretty mad to me.

Just wish someone would explain to me what those people in the City actually do and why that and that black hole seems to have made us all so much poorer !!

My dogs don't care about the economy as long as they get walked, fed and watered on a regular basis and I will be quite happy for as long as I can carry on doing that for them.

This is us - One extreme to the other

I am a mad woman living on the fens of Lincolnshire with a part time husband and three mad dogs - walking them in all weathers certainly gives you a different slant on life and people - I meet some real characters when I am out with them most of them are great but we do get the odd old grump who doesn't like three mad dogs running straight at him - can't think why !!!

Well last week we froze and needed extra layers to do the early morning walk and now this morning it is 10 degrees blowing me off my feet and pouring down how mad is our weather !!! It isn't any wonder that we all end up with double pneumonia and bronchial whatsits !!!
The dogs don't care what the weather is doing they just go for it and this morning in the wind Pebbles the red boxer was dancing - Alfie the springer was well Alfie the spaniel - and fatso (Meg the Chocolate Lab) just did her own thing - there certainly weren't many people around for our early walk today - just one of the grumps mentioned previously so we avoided him !!
